CARDS TURN ON THE JETS LATE, PUNCH TICKET TO DRIBBLE DRIVE CHAMPIONSHIP
Jeff Davis and the Cards would (battle off Louisville Central in the semi-final round of the Dribble Drive Challenge. South Laurel would win the challenge 62-50 to move into the championship game.
The South Laurel Cardinals would maintain a slim lead over the Yellow Jackets, leading 33-26 at the half. Louisville Central would fight hard to make a comeback but could not outmatch the Cards as they would take control of the game as time expired. South would finish the game with 62 points, holding Louisville Central to 50.
Coach Davis bragged on how talented the Louisville Central team was, and how hard they played. “They play extremely hard and never quit. I thought we handled the pressure well, but we have to clean up the little things”. Davis and the Cards will play for the championship tomorrow against Cooper. “We are going to have to be mentally tough tomorrow against a really hard-nosed Cooper team that will make you earn everything on each possession”.
“Caden played really well tonight. We even used him to bring the ball up tonight which was huge”, said Davis. Caden Jones was named player of the game in the contest. Caden stated it was a full team effort to grab this big win tonight. “We won this game by slowing down, playing strong, and listening to Coach Davis”.
South Laurel will face Cooper in the Legacy Nissan Dribble Drive Challenge Championship tomorrow at 12:30 pm at South Laurel High School.
